Such a time saver! I could do without the spoon measures, but it came as a set. I love the cups! I can use one cup for measuring 1 3/4 cups instead of three. My husband loves it too because when I bake there's not such a mess of cups for him to clean up.

I recently purchased this 'very affrdable' infrared thermometer to see about the temperature loss I have in our home. I was skeptical of the accuracy but was reassured when I tested next to our digital furnace thermostat... the thermostat read 66 degrees F and the Infrared thermometer read 65.9 degrees F. So I was reassured that the temp reading is accurate at the lower spectrum of the readings. Very easy to use, just point and 'shoot'... and fast too. Will be 'testing' other objects temperatures as time goes by! It does come with batteries and a handy carrying case (cheap plastic but serves the purpose) Make sure to read the instructions... very easy to use. Further testing to be conducted by the 'head chef' in the kitchen...

i love these measuring spoons. they are very well thought out and well designed. one precaution when washing them is to be careful because the stream of faucet water sent directly into the spoon will redirect at the person doing the dish washing, which is okay because it involves a learning curve, though it takes me awhile to learn so it may happen a few more times until i remember to wash them at an angle.

there is no comparison to the old pair of plastic measuring spoons in terms of either their usability or durability. the plastic pair were only ever rudimentary and very ineffective when actually trying to cook. the dual spoons for each measurement make it easy to re-use a spoon, such as getting a 1/4 tsp of paprika from the one side and 1/4 tsp of salt from the other side, without contaminating either bottle.

I am very familiar with pyrex. I use many pyrex items every day. It is a good well made product. I have measuring cupsin 1,2 and 4 cup sizes as well as mixing bowls with covers to double as storage units also. I also have five different sizes of bakeware as well. It is a great product that will last forever, some of my pieces are over 25-30 years old. It would make a nice gift that you know will be used and not sit in a closet.

1) Long handles are very convenient for getting the stuff from the bottom of a small container with narrow opening.

2) I noticed that I use spoon #2 (1.5 tsp = 1/2 tbsp) pretty often. 1.5 tsp is typical amount of baking powder in my recipes. :)

3) Stainless steel is perfect. It looks good and I can put the spoons on top of the hot stove without worrying about warping. Or fill them with boiling hot water.

4) All inscriptions are etched, not printed. I love it as I had the problem with all my previous sets of measuring spoons and cups with printed inscriptions - numbers/letters had rubbed away with time.
