How to Cook Everything (Completely Revised 10th Anniversary Edition): 2,000 S...
by Mark Bittman
Amazon Price: .10
Used Price: .90
Average Customer Rating: 4.5
Review (rating: 5):
I received this book for Christmas and have already made 6-7 recipes from it. The instructions are clear and simple enough for those who aren't gourmet cooks.

This is NOT a book for those who choose recipes based on photographs, but for those who have a basic idea for what they want to make...but maybe with a new twist.

Many of the recipes have alternate versions for those who like to experiment and wherever there is an option for homemade ingredients (like mayonnaise or sauces) the book refers to the specific page where they can be found.

Overall, this is the best How To I've found so far. I'm buying the vegetarian version for a friend!

This book has something for everyone. And easy. Rachel really knows how to put together everyday things for even the beginner. I'm not a great cook and I can put together most of these things. Like I said, something for everyone. Buy it.

Biggest Loser Family Cookbook: Budget-Friendly Meals Your Whole Family Will Love
by Devin Alexander
Amazon Price: .17
Used Price: .58
Average Customer Rating: 4.5
Review (rating: 3):
I'm kind of bummed 'cuz I saw that the price went down a little a few days after I bought it. I also expected more recipes so that was also a little disappointing. If interested in buying this book, I would recommend checking it out from a library first to judge more accurately how much use you'd get out of it. There's a few ideas and things in there that I may try. But overall, been there, done that.

Hello, Cupcake!: Irresistibly Playful Creations Anyone Can Make
by Alan Richardson
Amazon Price: .38
Used Price: .93
Average Customer Rating: 5.0
Review (rating: 5):
I really enjoyed the ideas in this book. Many of them were simple enough that I, a non-baker, could use them. I did visit their website and made the 'acorn nut' cupcakes also. They were the most popular. My mom made the acorn cupcakes for her garden club meeting and they were the talk of the meeting.
