Date Squares

Description A healthy variation of a fruit snack bar. Dates are naturally sweet and a good source of fiber.

  • 1 Tbs butter
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1 Tbs sugar
  • 1 Tbs self-raising flour
  • 1 egg
Methods/steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Grease or line a 7-inch tin.
  3. In a medium size pan, melt the butter. Remove from the heat.
  4. Add sugar, flour, dates and egg. Mix.
  5. Place the mixture in the prepared tin, pressing down.
  6. Cook in the center rack for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Let it cool slightly and cut into squares while still warm.
Additional Tips

No need to make it squares. Cut it into other shapes: triangles, finger style...
