Just used this once again right before reviewing. Easy on the hand for peeling potatoes. It didn't work as well on apples and seems better for larger potatoes just because it is a fairly large tool for a woman's hand.

I never owned a non-electric can opener so wasn't sure what to expect. This one works perfectly. It is very easy to turn and has never slipped or needed any extra effort to open every can I've needed opened. It also came in handy when the power went out!

There were a few reviews saying you cannot put them in the oven, but I put them in the oven weekly.
They work great for cooling racks and work great for any item you put in the oven that you don't want to waste time turning over half-way through.
I put the rack on a cookie sheet and use them to cook fish, chicken nuggets, tater tots, etc. and it cooks on both sides evenly.

looks good.... could be quite a cudgel if you plan on having impromptu bilingual blood fests in your kitchen.
No doubt a metal can opener would server better in such a circumstance, but unless you're ron burgundy, by all means, purchase this.

We've only used it a few times, but it seems to work well and does look nice. Only hitch so far is it took a few tries to get a larger can to hook in to open, but once it did action was smooth and thorough.

Bought this to replace an old black and decker under the cabinet opener.
We couldn't use the same holes we had to drill new ones. I doesn't close up like the older one. It doesn't open cans as nicely. It leaves quite a jagged edge on the cans so you have to be cafeful. I have not had any problem with it opening cans and it works on any size. I wish B & D would have kept with something closer in style to the old design. It would have been nice not to have to drill more holes in the underside of my kitchen cabinets.

I wish I would have seen this along time ago. Charges fast and works great. Just throw it back in the drawer when you are done, saves so much space compared to the counter can opener. Couldn't beat the price

I don't understand how some of the reviewers can review a product based on such trivial things, such as: "you have to stand in front of this can opener". It's a "can opener", we aren't "The Jetsons" so we don't mind standing in front of our opener while it BEAUTIFULLY OPENS THE CANS we place in it. For pete's sake rate a product based on it's job instead of it's conveniences. This can opener does a wonderful job opening cans.

This is wonderful, it moves around the can on it's own and leaves the top and rim without a sharp edge. Because of this it does leave the can more flexible.

My grandmother is 77 years old & has to get my granfather to open jars for her all the time. She recieved this as a gift last week & loves it. We didn't even read the directions, just plugged it in & started using it & it worked great! Very simple to understand, & easy to use, it works on a wide range of jar sizes. It closes down so it fits on the counter nicely. I read some reviews saying it took up too much counter space but I don't agree. It's not that big & much easier to use than an under the counter mounted version. I'm purchasing another one for my other grandmother who lives alone. This is a great gift idea for anyone who is elderly or frail.
