Review (rating: 5):
My mom gave me this ice cream maker as a Christmas present a few years ago. My husband and I are vegan, so we were really excited about creating new vegan ice cream recipes. (I eventually started compiling them in my blog, A Vegan Ice Cream Paradise.)
We've never had a problem with the machine. Every recipe I've invented has frozen nicely. I keep the bowl in the freezer all of the time, so I can make ice cream whenever I feel like it.
I do wish that the plastic covering/shield thing was dishwasher-safe, because it can be a pain to clean, especially when I'm using a high-fat coconut milk. Still, it's not too difficult, and the reward (awesome vegan ice cream) is worth it.

Review (rating: 5):
I own both the KitchenAid ice cream attachment and the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker, two devices that work on the same principle of using a liquid filled freezer bowl and a machine-operated paddle to make homemade ice cream. I decided to compare the two using the same recipe for French vanilla ice cream (from the KitchenAid cookbook) to see which performed better.
The KitchenAid: The bowl has a greater capacity (about 5 cups of mix) than the Cuisinart ICE-20 Automatic 1-1/2-Quart Ice-Cream Maker, White. Although it also takes up more room in the freezer, I liked this aspect. After all, if I'm going to make homemade ice cream, I want enough to make the effort worthwhile. The KitchenAid attachment added more air, which created a slightly grainier, more commercial texture but faster flavor delivery. Perhaps because ...

This thing will become your best friend if you love icecream.. It is super simple and really fast. (if you wait for it to completely freeze) It comes out like soft serve. But it hardens very quickly if put in the freezer inside the freezing container. Just watch for scratching the inside of the bowl.. Things can get hard to get out once set. We let it set on the counter for about 10 mins. and it is easier to work with. We are bad and we don't really follow the recipe book.. If you want richer icecream, substitute the milk with half & half and use the whipping cream it calls for then add any kind of additions in the last 5 mins. YUMMY..

Just need three words for it...I love it!!! I ordered this item on the Friday before Thanksgiving, received it on Tuesday,(really quick shipping) opened the box and froze the bowl. On Thanksgiving day made ice cream with it using the vanilla recipe in the book and it make perfect ice cream. Not sure why some people have trouble with it, I did not have any. I will be ordering another bowl for it. Very easy to put together and to take apart to clean. Love the fact that no ice is needed or salt. The grandkids loved the ice cream cones and being able to make them by themselves. FIVE stars all the way!!!

This is really a sturdy ice shaver. It occasionally will jam up so you have to stay close by. The kids really like it because of the style. I've found that it works better to use crushed ice from the fridge door.

Love it! Bought it to replace the one I've had for the last 23 years. Great bang for the buck! Can't go wrong with this one. Makes great ice cream! Not real loud. Easy to use. What can I say...? Glad I bought it. And, as usual, it arrived sooner than they suggested it would. Hard to beat Amazon's service whether it is coming from them or a second party. Good instructions too. If you've never made home made ice cream, they take you through it step by step. When the motor quit's turning... you're done! Good wide base for stability in transport.I have to say the shipping was a little more than expected. But, you really can't beat it for the price.
Rival 5-Pound Bag of Rock Salt

Review (rating: 1):
This is the dirtiest rock salt I've ever seen. Remember years ago when you opened up the rock salt, and it was white, and you could actually grab a piece and suck on it ..this isn't it ! This bag of salt looked like they'd swept it up off the busy New York streets after a long storm
and then dried and bagged it. Like a friend said, "Buy Morton, it's clean salt." Think I'll do that next time.

This is the classic ice cream freezer and we've been using one for over 40 years (many replacements, of course). The secret to the leaky bucket is to keep the wood swollen. Can't happen in our DRY homes and basements. So, take it from my wife's uncle (now 80+ yrs old) the cure is fiberglass. Just get a kit from the auto supply store that you use to fix auto bodies. Follow the directions, spreading the cloth all over the inside of the wooden bucket. It'll make your wood last lots longer and NO MORE LEAKS!!
Euro Cuisine Yogurt Starter Packs 2-packs

Acidophilus makes yogurt a bit more tart than starter without it. This starter makes a nice creamy yogurt that's not too tart. It's the only starter I use now. I make yogurt several times a week.
