Celeriac Potato Mash

Description A pleasant side dish with a mild taste of celery, it is very easy to prepare and nutritious.

  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut up small   
  • 2 cups celery root, washed and cut into chunks   
  • 1 cup milk   
  • 2 Tbs butter   
  • salt   
  • pepper
Methods/steps
  1. Boil - about 15 minutes - and drain or steam - about 25 minutes potatoes until tender.
  2. Simmer celeriac in milk until tender, about 20-30 minutes.
  3. Mash celeriac in the milk, which would have been very much reduced.
  4. Mash potatoes and mix with the mashed celeriac, beating gently over very low heat. Mix in butter, season with salt and pepper and serve.
