Description
Chestnut stuffing for the autumn. Make it flavorful, make it seasonal.
Ingredients
- 2 lb chestnuts, boiled,peeled and coarsely crumbled, or 1 lb can cooked chestnuts, coarsely crumbled
- 1 Tbs butter
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 lb sausage meat
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Methods/steps
- Heat butter in a pan. Fry onion gently, until soft and translucent.
- Add sausage meat and brown, stirring frequently, for about 5-8 minutes.
- Mix sausage meat with chestnuts and breadcrumbs.
- Season with allspice, nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste.
- Allow to cool before using.
