Wheat Hamburger Buns

Description The buns are easier to handle if allowed to sit over night before using them. Brush with melted real butter and a pinch of garlic or another herb of choice, and throw onto the grill. Allow to sit for a few moments, depending on heat, until crispy as desired.

  • 1 cup oil
  • 6 Tbs. yeast
  • 3 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 Tbs. salt
  • 10 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
Methods/steps
  1. Mix the oil, yeast, water, and honey, set aside to allow to rest.
  2. Preheat oven to 375ยบ F.
  3. Add remaining ingredients. Kneading together for at least 5 minutes.
  4. Shape immediately into hamburger buns. This can be done by hand, or on a lightly flour surface roll out and cut with large size cookie cutter. Allow dough to rise for 20 minutes.
  5. Bake immediately for 20 minutes.
